I’ve finally stopped binge eating!

I’ve finally stopped binge eating (well for 3 weeks so far!)
It’s a really simple change I’ve made…every Monday morning for about the last 25 years I’ve started my ‘diet.’ So I’ve begun each week restricting in some way (low carb, slimming works, cabbage soup) and sometimes I’ve been successful for a short period of time and then fallen off the waggon big style and bingeing - sometimes for months on end!
I’ve finally stopped telling myself I have to restrict food and amazingly I feel like I’m free to eat whatever I like so I’m not then feeling I need to gorge!
It’s literally a revelation! If you don’t have food issues you may not understand this but I feel ‘free’ from food for the first time in decades.

This is great! I have binge eating disorder so I know how you feel. Mine started with my restrictive dieting, it is that all or nothing feeling isn't it. The more I dieted the more I binged!
I have been seeing a therapist and feel so much better, I have stopped dieting as well and feel like you do.
well done! x

Thank you! It feels wild to me that I thought I had to always be in diet mode!

Well done, I know exactly what you've been through having binged for years. I'm on Day 4, it feels so good to be free, even if it's early days. Keep up the good work, it will be so worth it.
