Hey! I’m hoping this is in the correct place; if it’s not admin please move it :)
I’ll do my best to explain, but please bear with as I want to get all the details correct to see if this is something mums/mums to be/working people would be interested in.

Im going to start off by saying I am now 5 month postpartum with my first baby, and it took me a long time to find myself again and feel ok. I love my little girl to pieces and she’s the best thing to every happen but that stop the fact I wasn’t happy with myself, my body image or
my health and fitness.

I enquired with PT’s & online coaches but they were all very expensive and not something I could afford on my maternity wage. I didn’t know where to start to getting back to myself and thought something like this would kickstart me. I was very lucky to win online coaching in a Christmas competition which I am not 2 weeks into, loving and and finally starting to feel like myself again.

it has got me thinking that there may be a lot of people in my shoes who want to kickstart their health and fitness goals but don’t know where to start or how to do it, is my question is would an instagram page with my journey, what I’m doing etc be helpful and something people would be interested in?

I want to clarify I don’t want to be come an influencer, I don’t want to be a size 6 and I certainly don’t want to be selling anything or doing this for any money. It would be about helping people to kick bad habits, find ways to exercise and move with their babies/children/pets, eat healthier while still enjoying the food you love.

Im not an expert, never will be, I’m just a mum who could have used something like this a few months ago, and wondering if I can help other people on their journey who are stuck in a rut and want to get out.

So thoughts? Please be honest - I know most will be.

Thanks for taking the time to read :)

I'd do it and see where it goes. There are a lot of Insta pages devoted to health and fitness so you would be facing massive competition, but as you say, you're not trying to start up a business or become an influencer, so why not.

It all depends on your tone and writing style and pictures. It’s just content. People like good content.

What are you hoping to achieve with it?

The best way to find out if people are interested is to put it out there. Post daily, try different types of content, engage with other accounts whose followers you think might be interested in your journey, ask your followers what they want to see.

Go for it, and see what happens. My dd posted a recipe on TikTok during lockdown and had over 80,000 followers within 48 hours. It scared her off a bit actually!!

A lot of people do this and a lot of people like to watch their progress. There's a woman on YouTube that does low-carb and intermittent fasting and I really enjoy seeing her fantastic progress.
