Robots/robotics for primary aged children

DS has expressed an interest in search and rescue robots and asked me how they work and how they are made. Can anyone recommend resources (YouTube, tv, Netflix, paper, kits) which give simple and easy to understand explanations of how robots work? Something aimed at older primary aged children with no real understanding of electronics, programming etc.

Boston Dynamics on YouTube is fantastic in showing what they can do. Not specifically aimed at children though.

Google something like robot raspberry pi

You can get kits aimed at children that they can build and program

In the robocup competitions they can use those to do search and rescue task

Basic is follow a line and they build from there
