Switch games similar to Pokémon Sword?

I know they've just released Scarlet and Violet but I'm not spending that much on a game.

For an adult - can anyone recommend a similar game please? I'm talking about puzzle or strategy type games.

If you want Pokémon you can try Pokémon Legends Arceus? It's over a year old now so should be able to pick it up cheaper second hand.
