Just that really. Where do you usually start? What are you favourite topics?

I usually start on unanswered threads then have a random look through active, and just see what catches my eye tbh. I don’t search out topics, except Sporner Corner!

hopelessbusiness · 17/01/2023 22:40

I love a good CF thread so AIBU is my starting point.
Also Relationships and Chat.
Any thread with 'Jane Austen' in the title gets my attention too!

Ihatethenewlook · 17/01/2023 22:45

Anything controversial where I know there’ll be arguments 😬 I think it’s the same for the majority of people, even if they pretend otherwise. There’s threads every day about how unkind a lot of the posters are. But realistically mn is a forum people go on when they’re bored for a bit of entertainment. Drama is entertaining 🤷🏼‍♀️

RelaxedPigeon · 17/01/2023 22:47

I look at active. I don’t look at particular topics.

NashvilleQueen · 17/01/2023 22:47

Active
Watching
I'm on
Then if nothing grabs me
Politics/news
Style and beauty
Telly addicts

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 17/01/2023 22:47

Any book thread

I love a good CF or Deranged SIL

Telly

Celebs

StarDolphins · 17/01/2023 22:50

I only go on active & pretty much read them all. Apart from the ones that are ‘kyle’s sister is called?’, I never read those but most of the others I do!

NashvilleQueen · 17/01/2023 22:50

Also love a 'why isn't my house selling?'/rightmove one

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 17/01/2023 22:51

I prefer the SIL ones, as the MIL ones often feel like deliberate unkindness

I get enraged by Step Parent threads because they fall into two categories

a) I want my stepchild to be completely silent and live in a cupboard

or

b) Stepmum has a perfectly reasonable issue with the DSC or other parent and a thousand posters turn up to smugly parrot the absolutely meaningless "you knew he had DC when you met him"

Theoldwoman · 18/01/2023 02:08

Definitely lots of drama on MN, I often wonder what some of the posters are like IRL.

Nonsense mainly.

JamMakingWannaBe · 18/01/2023 03:18

I like a good browse around the topics:
Active
Scotsnet - usually quite quiet
FWR - especially with what's going on in Scotland at the moment.
Money Matters
Property & DIY
Gardening
Home Decoration - if I'm really wasting time. I don't really want to help you choose your bathroom tiles.
Legal - as a Scot the English house buying process and school application preferences seem nuts to me. I like the professional legal bods putting the armchair amateurs in their place - usually oh so politely.
Divorce and Separation - in case I need tips for the future. Same with Elderly Parents and Retirement.
Style and Beauty
Telly Addicts - if it relates to something I'm watching
30 Days Only.
AMA can be really interesting IF the OP actually answers the questions posed.
The Litter Tray.
The relevant Health ones.

charabang · 18/01/2023 05:57

I have a prescribed order
AIBU
Chat
home and garden
books
telly addicts
anything that goes above 600 is usually juicy
Sometimes I teeter over to Gransnet but it can be quiet- guess they're napping 💤

hopelessbusiness · 18/01/2023 18:16

I also enjoy food/portion size ones - mainly for the '1 portion of fish & chips serves all 6 of us here!' type comments. Love to see how competitive the MN under eaters get!

lljkk · 18/01/2023 18:39

Active Convo
last Day
I'm on
Teenagers
Exercise
Chat
Health, menop (no idea why ,non event for me)

Anisina · 18/01/2023 18:42
