Electric blanket question

CyanCrystalViolet · 17/01/2023 20:29

I’d like to buy an electric blanket but I’m not sure what size to buy. I have a kingsize bed all to myself so really only need a single-sized electric blanket, but I’m guessing the elastic won’t stretch to the other side of the mattress? Will it move about under the sheet? Could I get away with a smaller one or will I have to buy a kingsize?

King size, with duel controls, so you only heat one side.

QuizteamAguillera · 17/01/2023 20:41

Just buy a Kingsizeo

CharlotteFlax · 17/01/2023 20:45

Buy a king size, thank us later

I got a king size and I sleep on my own mostly

Whatevergetsyouthroughthenight · 17/01/2023 20:55

I live alone but got a king size with dual controls for each side. It is a fitted sheet style one.

The strappy ones I find annoying as you can feel the straps.

Oblomov22 · 17/01/2023 20:56

Buy a king, with dual controls, then it will fit perfectly.

Findyourneutralspace · 17/01/2023 20:57

King size, dual control. Sleep on the warm side then when you get too warm, stretch over to the cool bit!

Thanks everyone Smile

Oh, it says ‘most electric under blankets aren’t suitable for a memory foam mattress as the direct heat interferes with how the foam moulds to your body’

I have a memory foam mattress so not sure what to do now!

Can you safely steam clean electric throws? Don’t want to wash them…

GasPanic · 05/02/2024 16:08

I use an electric throw over the top of the duvet instead of an electric blanket when it is very very cold.
