Don’t have much spare cash but finding it hard to keep on top of the house, is a cleaner worth it?

I’m a single mum with young children. I work and try to juggle it all. I can keep on top of the house loosely in terms of tidying but not cleaning, it gets me down.
would a fortnightly cleaner make much of a difference to my life?

I found it very helpful in the past (when DD was toddler, I worked out of home part time) and now (she is Junior Primary, I run my own business from home)

I hesitated starting again this year but it is honestly such a load lifted. As well as regular tasks she does one occasional task each time so this week she cleaned my blinds!

I have once a week for 2.5 hours for a 4 bed semi. It keeps me organised and I tidy so she can clean. Also it means the whole house is clean at once rather than if we clean we have some rooms less clean than others.

Cleaners never get the house as clean as you doing it yourself (you'd never whip around in 2.5 hours and do everything). Plus you still have to clean in between times.

Every 2 weeks seems insufficient to me but that's because I wouldn't want to do a lot of the work in between.

My cleaner empties bins and hoovers as well as mops floors. Things like cleaning of bathroom or kitchen surfaces is an every day task.

Definitely worth it. We have a cleaner for 4 hours every 2 weeks. She does a proper scrub of the kitchen, bathroom and downstairs toilet, plus vacuuming and a little bit of ironing. We generally have the place tidy though as I’ve been decluttering- the less stuff you have, the less stuff there is to keep tidy and the easier it is to clean!
