Is this a thing? Really tearful after virus

Last week I was ill, which isn’t like me. It was just a 24h thing: dizziness, fever, headache, body aches, exhaustion.
i recovered quickly, apart from a lingering headache and occasional dizziness, but I’ve felt like bursting into tears constantly ever since. Is this something that happens? Or just coincidence? I’m hoping it’s a viral symptom and it’ll just stop soon, but I’m not sure if that’s possible. Has anyone had similar?

I get like that sometimes when I'm ill. You're just less resilient and tired and feeling crap and want it to stop. I suspect you're probably not as recovered as you think and your body is still fighting it off.

Make sure you get plenty of rest, hydrate, and eat well, and see how you are in a few days.

Yes, DH and I both felt very down when we had Covid after Christmas, and still do, a bit. The fact that we both felt the same makes me think it was the virus.

I think it's very normal. It makes you feel run down and vulnerable in yourself.

Yes it’s definitely a thing - post viral syndrome or something I think it’s called.
I was very low after I had flu (proper flu) once. Took me months to recover

Oh god, I couldn’t take months of this! I’ll try to rest at the weekend and hopefully I can shave a month or two off!
