Nothing you just relax!

Peridot1 · 17/01/2023 12:58

You just lie there and relax

You just chill out on your back or front and they wander off for a bit. Another room usually in my and DHs experience.

They leave you warm and with your bits covered up.

You can't feel where the needles are (well i never could).

They normally go into another room and leave you to relax and covered. In my experience they give you a buzzer to press if you want to call them

What everyone else has said. Also they sometimes point an infrared heat lamp at the body part being treated which is nice. I had it at a Chinese place in a shopping centre (most gone now) and there was a very severe massage afterwards too.

I nearly always fall asleep!

I had few sessions where the therapist lit smouldering wax threads attached to the needles. They gave off a slight warmth and an incense perfume, all very relaxing and pleasant.

My DH always got a wooden box placed upon the effected area, with sticks smouldering away inside. I was always jealous to just get the needles! 😅

They sometimes make little adjustments but then they leave you to it. Very relaxing.

They’ve always “flicked” the ends of the needles once they were in, but mine was for sports injuries so different? Not unpleasant. Didn’t hurt.

Lightningrain · 17/01/2023 15:41

They leave the room and let you relax for a bit IME. If it’s your first time they usually pop in quite frequently to make sure you’re ok.

Martinisarebetterdirty · 17/01/2023 15:49

Agree you just relax and they check on you from time to time. In terms of feeling, I’ve found that the needles fizz a bit - like reiki if you’ve had that. Not unpleasant or painful but I was aware of them.

I had this for a sports related injury, and I honestly thought I'd been hooked up to the mains! My muscles kept jumping where the needles were, but it didn't hurt at all, and the relief it gave was tremendous
