Hi everyone
I am saving some money for holidays and can probably save up to £3500-£4000 by May. Where can I go with that? I'd like a few holidays really and don't mind airbnbs. I am quite ambitious in that I'd like to see Edinburgh for a weekend with DP, visit my sister in the Netherlands for a weekend with DS, go somewhere warm and sunny to relax but not too far away, with DP.

But then I'd like to try skiing with DP for the first time too!

I work in school so my holidays are fixed

My friend is getting married in august in Los Angeles. She has invited me and my DS ( I am a little reluctant to go as I don't know anyone there aside from her and it looks pretty expensive) and I don't think my budget can spread or cover me and my son so I am looking for options.

Where would you go if you had a budget of £4000 this year?

We've got Ibiza for two weeks is chill holidays and it's 6k. I highly doubt you will be able to do all you want and definitely not the wedding

We are doing 5 people all Inc to Egypt for some snorkelling in Feb for circa 3.5k.

You could possibly do somewhere like that for just two and still have money for Edinburgh, Netherlands etc?

Back to Jamaica.

I'd go to Italy by train and stay in an agriturismo eating the best food ever and walking in the mountains. Probably wouldn't cost that much!

I’d put it in premium bonds instead 😎

Cappadocia in Turkey - gorgeous landscape, cave hotels, hot air balloons, horse riding and authentic food. Incredible. And not too costly.

Or maybe Albania - google Ksmil. It's STUNNING and cheap.

I like those suggestions- thank you

Quite like the idea of Italy by train...

@IDontWantToBeAPie

Àlbania has also opened up a lot since my visit.

If I were you, I'd fly myself and ds to Washington DC for a few nights, then over to LA for five nights, wedding on one of them, then back home.

I'd take a credit card for spends and worry about it later.
