It’s dds birthday soon and she just wants 2 or 3 friends around to play for the afternoon and have birthday tea at ours.
All the friends she wants to invite are boys. I know they would be happy to run around the house with nerf guns for 3 hours, but I’d like to do some games with them to keep them entertained for at least some of the time.

Games like pass the parcel might be too babyish now? What other things can I do to keep them busy?

My 8yo would enjoy Potions making, Slime making, decorating cakes/biscuits, making pizza.

Do you have board or card games - dobble, labyrinth, uno etc?

Could do a treasure hunt with clues to solve and challenges but depends how much time you have beforehand?

The clingfilm game was a hit here at Christmas, the kids loved it.

(Of course admitting it on here will mean i'm put on the naughty list for plastic waste)

Lots of games to think about! Thank You for all the suggestions, I like the idea of a treasure hunt, some good idea for games.
We have Twister, which doesn’t normally get played.

I have never heard of the cling film game so no idea what’s involved!

Huge slab of chocolate in the middle, with knife + fork, hat, scarf + gloves.
Pass a dice around.
When the music stops, roll.
If you get a six you can start putting on the hat, scarf and gloves, and cutting up and eating the chocolate until someone else rolls a six.
Not sure if music is needed or not?

I have never heard of the cling film game so no idea what’s involved!

you make up what is basically a pass the parcel but with a roll of cling film, so in the center you have the big prize then you start rolling the clingfilm around it while putting in other prizes at each layer. Until you make a big ball of it and squeeze it shut tightly, press the layers together. You want it really difficult to unravel.

Then to play the game you need a dice, the person who rolls a 6 goes first, unwrapping the cling film collecting the prizes.
The dice is passed around the circle until someone else rolls a 6 and gets the cling film ball to unwrap. The winner is the person who gets the big prize.

It was a hit at Christmas my kids are between 5 to 12 and all loved it.
