The CMS have been investigating my child's father for unpaid CMS, income and assets. They have said they will be able to bring enforcement action against him if they can prove where he lives.

Recent letters are being returned

I suspect it's because he reaslises this is now not going to go away and he is returning letters so they can't take it any further.

Today I have paid for an online trace of his address and should have it within 5 days.

No my question is what happens if they have the same address? Or he returns letters from that address if it's different to the one they hold.

They are stating that they can't prove where he lives and if they can't prove it nothing can be done.

I've said use his banking address. He is self employed, use the address the tax office uses. But none of this can be used because of GDPR. They are not allowed to contact the above etc because of that.

What do I do next if they can't prove his address?
It all just seems so pointless. So weighted against us. I'm on my last nerve with it all.

Does anyone have any suggestions please

Does he have a driving licence? Can CMS look at DVLA records? They claim they can suspend licences.

I have suggested this and what they have said is that they can't suspend it without informing him etc. giving him a chance to provide his financial records and paying the debt.

It's literally like going in circles with them.

I've suggested

His address from the tax office
Dvla
Address his bank holds

They have said they can't contact them because of GDPR.

I feel like I'm so close but yet so far to getting it sorted out and and for all.

Does he own his home?
If so can you get copy of land registry information? I know a solicitor can get this information.

I have no idea and no address so I can't even check.
