Again 🤬
And the Met knew he was a risk since 2000
Fuck sake and I'm waiting for the "one bad apple" idiots to come whining
the only way this rotten to the core animal could continue to offend is because the organisation protected him.
His nickname was "bastard Dave"
those poor women

Dave’s manager should be fired, and his manager too, and Dave’s colleagues should be fired, and the whole UK police force needs to change the way they discipline and recruit. Every police force attracts creeps and criminals who apply to it. Look at how 16yr old Putin walked into Russia’s security service to ask how he could get a job. A Mumsnet teacher says every year the bullies leaving her school apply to the police.

The police force needs to accept and expert that perverts and bullies are applying and to make efforts to stop them getting accepted. They must psychologically profile and screen out bullies and perverts BEFORE they start work. If they can’t do this, it’s better to have a female only force than one made of rapists.

And by the way…

We define ‘bad apple’ as “someone who creates problems or causes trouble for others; specifically, a member of a group whose behavior negatively affects the remainder of the group." This term is often misunderstood to mean that a troublemaker's behavior is not representative of the whole group, but the proverb this term originally comes from is "one bad apple ruins the whole barrel."

By the time you see one bad apple, the whole barrel already has a problem…

Good point about the bad apple
and there is something rotten to the core in the met police

Agree with action needing against his line manager.

How can they show they can manage properly.

Another nail in the coffin. No snr mgt scapegoat to blame this time round (female).

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 16/01/2023 15:50

It was exactly the same with Wayne Couzens wasn't it. His NN was even the Rapist. Absolutely sickening. You can't trust or rather you don't feel like you can trust anyone. Just because they're Police doesn't always mean they're good law abiding people.

yorkshirepudsx · 16/01/2023 16:02

It's disgusting.

I also think this could potentially scare a lot of victims from speaking up, if the police don't do much about 'one of their own' - then what hope have they got if they're being sexually assaulted etc by somebody? Very very unsettling.

YetMoreNewBeginnings · 16/01/2023 16:06

The number of missed opportunities to deal with him is horrendous.

Does make you wonder just how many others like him and Couzens there are in police forces all over the place.

The Met seem to specialise in cock ups that endanger women.

Actually a certain Cressida Dick was blamed. This and other cases, including another case that can't be mentioned in public yet, are one of the main reasons why she was told to go.

NextPrimeMinister · 16/01/2023 16:17

@Reugny I'd not realised that! And still another case to rear it's head.

Jesus.

Endlesssummer2022 · 16/01/2023 17:02

And yet there was some absolute bellend on here last week demanding the police get more stop and search powers because surely the ‘bad apples’ wouldn’t use this as a chance to target even more innocent and vulnerable people?

This case is disgusting and all officers in the force who were made aware and did nothing, need to be investigated and brought to justice. The whole force needs to down reform.

KangarooKenny · 16/01/2023 17:07

I live in an area where there used to be lots of police living. The amount having affairs was staggering, and one plain clothes police man was banging on his door drunk one night threatening his wife. His colleagues threw him in a cell to sober up, and sent him home.
The police have to stop protecting their colleagues.

Tearsndears · 16/01/2023 17:10

Some people are clever with words and very convincing. Good at manipulating others and of course the devil looks after its own

ssd · 16/01/2023 17:14

Absolutely rotten to the core

SylviasMotherSaid · 16/01/2023 17:18

I’ve worked in the same building as a number of police officers and the male ones are incredibly touchy feely and in my experience use their role within our building as an excuse to say it’s just banter sadly those of my colleagues who have recently had touchy feely creepy older police officers invade their personal space don’t want to make a big deal about it to keep good relations with people they have to work with regularly but it disgusts me . A former friend of mine is married to a police officer who uses religion to isolate her from her former friends and he just gives off major creepy controlling vibes . I don’t think there’s any other profession in my experience which attracts so many repulsive men

Hobnobswantshernameback · 16/01/2023 20:43

The more I've watched a read today the more depressed I feel.
And I dread to think what else is still to come out if there are cases that can't even be discussed at present

They really need to improve their process to weed these people out at recruitment stage. The problem is the Police by it's nature will always attract weirdos on a power kick and bullies.

I wouldn't trust a Met police officer as far as I could throw them. Prior to Sarah Everard I would not have said that. But after that creature who killed her, the awful WhatsApp groups across more than one force, the photos of murdered sisters Nicole and Biba , the strip search of the young black school girl and now this. I have no trust in them. There is clearly an endemic problem in that force in particular. Vile.
