Pony Stories

I read a series of pony stores as child in 1991 ish from the school library and cannot for the life of me work out what they are. I reckon they were written in 60/70s

Child gets pony with her dads redundancy money
Mother is dead??
They live in one of two isolated cottages
They did a musical ride
They went on a long overnight trek (they bang their heads in the pillow so they knew when to get up)

I don't think it's pullein Thompson or Ruby Ferguson unless it is a different series?

I agree it’s not the Jill’s pony series by Ruby Thompson (Jill’s father is dead; her mother writes children’s stories and the pony is bought when one story does well), but I can’t think of any others that fit the description.

Bumping this so hopefully someone else recognises the story.

@Shouldbeworkingnotreadingtalk I didn't realise there were so many!

Could be any of these. All seem to have an unusual or lucky way to acquire said pony!

It's not one of Pat Smythe's is it? She wrote The Three Jay set, but also some others and they seem to quite often have a long trek somewhere in the story.
