Online spectacle lens sites - any good?

I'm on the verge of needed glasses again. Having had my eyes lasered for short sightedness some time ago, I have a low level prescription now for long sightedness (thanks middle age!) and I think I probably do need to get glasses again.

I still have my old frames and would like to resume them. My optician wants to charge a small fortune. Does anyone have any experience of using an online site? I've seen there are quite a few?

Dh and I have used glasses direct. Got eyes tested at local opticians then filled out prescription details online and chose frames.

I got two pairs for £15 on a recent offer but they are very basic and just for reading. They’re perfectly fine though and I won’t be paying opticians prices ever again. Dh has more expensive ones with anti glare coating etc but still under £80.

They can be sent back if they don’t fit properly but if you enter all your details and measurements correctly there shouldn’t be an issue.

Highly recommended by us.

I've used Selectspecs for about 5 years and they are great. When my optician screwed up my prescription they sent me two pairs of glasses that weren't right as a result. It was at the start of lockdown, so no opticians open. Selectspecs provided another two pairs, based on my previous prescription, at no extra charge.

They’re good if you have a low prescription. Mine is too high now and they can’t make it. They also can’t thin lenses as thin as my optician (Boots) can.

Thanks, that's very encouraging.

I don't think I'd do it if I was still needing my super strong short sighted prescription of old, but this is now very low level and borderline if I even need them.

Are you pushing an agenda here. This is the third time you've resurrected a zombie thread to mention this company 🤦‍♀️
