Recurring dreams of rape

I guess they’re nightmares really.. but I keep having dreams of being raped. They are very vivid.

Sometimes they involve strangers and sometimes they are people I know.

I have had one real life experience where I was very drunk at 17 and my boyfriends (at the time) friend leant over me and said “shhh don’t tell anyone”. Can’t remember anything else.

I was also sexually assaulted by a stranger on a night out.

I have had counselling and was asked if I was abused as a child as I had behaviours which would suggest I was, but I can’t remember and don’t think I was even though I’ve always been very wary of men.

These dreams are traumatising and make me feel odd all day. Id say I’ve had 4/5 rape dreams over a 2 week period.

Does anyone know what this may mean in a dream interpretation?

I think you would benefit from EMDR ti help to process something that might be unprocessed. Separately you can get a therapist to address any issues in the here and now that may have arisen from the abuse you have definitely experienced and what you might have experienced. From what I have read speaking about trauma is re traumatising for many victims.

Sorry to hear this OP. I think you'd benefit more from professional therapy rather than dream interpretation.
