First home - interior design inspiration!

We are about to buy our first home and I'm looking for ideas for interior design but don't know where to start. It's a new build property, 3 bed so not huge.

I have never been able to buy matching furniture or paint walls so this is exciting, but I don't know where to start with looking for design ideas. Can anyone recommend good instagram accounts to follow or websites to look at to help give me some ideas please?

Maybe look into Pinterest boards first to choose the designs and styles you particularly love, and then go down the rabbit hole of links and references that will bring you to Instagram accounts and websites with similar styles.
I'd also advise www.housebeautiful.com/design-inspiration/ and www.home-designing.com/ for more ideas and design software like interior-design3d.com/ to build a model of your future home and work on planning.

This is the best advice I've seen but I can't actually remember where I heard it, but it basically involves using someone else's hard work for your benefit.

Go to a diy store & get one of those paint sample cards with lots of different colours on and take it with you when you're house shopping. Along any row horizontally are colours that go well together so if you paint a wall in one colour look horizontally along the row to choose a shade to accessorise in or to choose a complementary paint colour. It's great of you want to be brave with colour but aren't sure which colours go well together.

The colours either side of each other vertically won't clash. So for example if I have a cushion in a shade of red and I want to buy a different red cushion. Check it on the card and if they're either side of your original colour going up and down the column then they'll be fine.

I didn't mean to add a pic of a back square there it was meant to be a colour card! That's one you can use if you're just really into black!

Look on Prime Location, Rightmove or Zoopla at new builds for sale that are similar to your house to get ideas.

I would look at the size and aspect of your rooms, where the windows are and what you will be doing in them at various times of the day. Also look at the floorplan to determine the flow of movement.
In my house it works best to have walls painted white and accent with pictures and colour in furniture.
One of the best oieces of advice I have heard was to paint walls in a neutral tone, have neutral flooring and live in the place for 6 months or so to understand its quirks.

I'd suggest checking out some top IG accounts like @studiomcgee, @em_henderson, and @homewithrue. These accounts are packed with killer ideas that could totally transform your space. They have everything from cozy living room setups to chic bedroom decor. For websites, you can't go wrong with Houzz and Apartment Therapy. They've got tons of ideas, tips, and even DIY projects if you're feeling crafty.

And hey, in case you're into it, I've come across some pretty cool articles about interior design trends. You'll find a mix of styles and themes, which might help you figure out what vibe you're going for in your new place. Sometimes just seeing a few pics can spark a ton of ideas.
