What events are you attending?

Over Christmas there were so many lovely events on... we went to 2 different lights trails, went to Beamish & NT properties whole they were all dressed up and we had a wonderful time.

We want to do different things through the year but the only thing I can find is the ice trail through Durham City centre. We have the usual things booked like lodge breaks and theatre tickets throughout the year, a couple of animal encounters but fancy something different.

Have you got any fun events to go to?

Not much planned so far.
2 Birthday parties this month
valentines break in feb
50 wedding anniversary party in march
Birthday weekend away in April
Anniversary weekend away in August.

don’t think we will get away for our usual summer holidays this year… to much going on.

I would like a trip to London sometime this year.

Nothing planned this month. DH and I both have deadlines approaching so no time really. Did something every weekend in December right up to new year but no plans for this month.

Next month is my birthday and it’s a milestone so will be celebrating that then it’s DC1’s 11 days later in early March (also a milestone) so I’m surprising him with a holiday, just the two of us. Going to slam dunk festival with him in May too, bought him those tickets for Christmas.

How old are your kids and where abouts are you?
Planning to try a new climbing centre nearby and have pencilled in a trip to Windsor Great Park when their new play park opens up. Stonor Park looks pretty fun too.

3 weddings, in 5 weeks! Over March and April. One very close family member, one neighbour, and one colleague of DH's. I have a feeling it's going to be a bit cold for them all! 😬 Still, they are all within 25 miles, so at least there's no overnight stops, or destination weddings to go to!

HeavenIsAHalfpipe · 14/01/2023 17:09

Oh they're not the type of events you meant sorry @Newtrix Blush Me and DH are going to a show at our local theatre in a week! Not much planned after that yet for the next 2-3 months, apart from the weddings!

Afternoon tea at the Wolseley with a friend next.

We want to take DS to the railway museum in York and to Kew Gardens at some point.

Butlins, which will be fun for me as DH is taking DS with his family and I’m not going 😁

We are going to see Swan Lake in March. Really looking forward to seeing it. Apart from that nothing else planned which is unusual for us.

Newtrix · 14/01/2023 17:43

@megletthesecond That sounds amazing... just had a quick Google! Hoping to see the new Cirque du Soliel so might have to incorporate that into our plans!

@HeavenIsAHalfpipe Haha they weren't what I meant but still events I would love... I'm in the minority but I just love weddings. There's 10 lads in my DH friendship group and we've all got married over the last 5 years plus my friends so I was loving life.

Going to York for the weekend next Friday with my dad and sisters. Have booked 2 lovely dinners and will do walking and mooching, museums etc.

Drinks and dinner at a wine bar for my birthday with my girlfriends on the 9th Feb.

Skiing 11th feb for a week.

My sisters 50th March 9th.

Didn't think I had anything to look forward to but I've changed my mind. 😁
