Here’s a quick reminder that Hogwarts Legacy is out for PS4 and PS5 and XBox on February 10th.

Switch version coming later.

Video game discussion sites are in the thrall of transactivists who are doing their utmost to cancel this.

Might make a good present for gaming kids in the family with birthdays coming up.

I’m posting this in chat and AIBU for traffic.

Let’s make sure it does well.

Oh it will do extremely well, the small rabid minority trying in vain to get the game cancelled are quite a sad bunch, they're just wasting their time. The game looks amazing!

My dh is a gamer (a bit). He also thinks JKR has been maligned by a bunch of idiots for no good reason.
Maybe he will.

I think people underestimate just how many people still love Harry Potter.

i spend a lot of time at Warner Bros Studio for work and it’s never not packed.

The Harry Potter Instagrammers I deal with put out their ‘statement’ in support of trans people and then went ahead posting as usual.

Characters in the game will also be playable as "trans". JK is happy to have that as an option. These people are expending energy on something that won't change (ie the world's love and demand for everything Harry Potter).

Dc and I are going thirds on the cost of the game. I'm just waiting for them to decide if we want it for ps4 or PC.
I wanted the deluxe collector edition, but it's super expensive so we can't.

Only a week to go for the deluxe edition. Ten days for PS5 players getting the standard edition.

I’ve been desperate for this since it was announced alongside the ps5 console release!
loved HP since reading the first book when I was 9 years old. I begged my mum to take me to the cinema to watch philosophers stone when I was 11 she didn’t understand my desperation but soon changed her mind after watching
queuing outside the shop at midnight waiting for the next book release was the highlight of my teenage years, along with christmases filled with absolutely everything HP
I’ve ordered the collectors edition, hoping it comes on the 6th instead of the 7th!!

PlayStation, it’s a stronger console and will run better. Switch will still run well but if you have both consoles, go for the PlayStation

It will be better on the ps5 - no doubt about that. The Switch is the least powerful of all of them, so it will run the game worse. The only reason to get it on the Switch is if you absolutely must play it away from your tv. And you'll have to wait a few more months for it to come out.

I have an old Xbox One and an old PS4. Was considering buying a new console but can't really justify it so will have to wait. I'm gutted.

DP has bought it because I said it looked really good even though he's the gamer and not me. He also wanted to show support for JKR, for everything that she's done and continues to do.

I don't really enjoy combat scenes in games but I like the rest of it. I might play it but get DS or DP to do the combat bits for me 😅

Harry Potter is a massive global phenomemon, of course this game is going to do well, regardless of who wrote it or what her opinions/ beliefs are.

It quite hilarious how anyone thinks that having a tantrum is going to prevent MILLIONS from purchasing this game in whatever format. I would bet an enormously hefty amount (except the odds would be terrible) that this will make as much as a dent in the purchase of the game as attempting to get people to boycott the books was: JKR sold even more than normal. All that seems to have happened is its giving the game tons of free publicity. I had never heard of it and now I am buying it and encouraging everyone I know to to as well.

They always forget that JKR is loved in India, China, Russia, Turkey, Brazil, you name it, who barely are aware of Trans activism.

Apparently if you play as a Ravenclaw you don't get as many missions as the other houses.

Which sucks as I too am a Ravenclaw.
