What to expect at gynaecology appointment

I have an appointment on the 23rd after my gp referred me for suspected endo. I have had an internal scan already, which showed an endometriotic cyst (I think that’s what it’s called) on my ovary. I’m just really worried I will get fobbed off as I’ve been reading threads on here saying how hard it is to get diagnosed and how long it has taken people. I’m currently on my period now and it’s a stark reminder of how much I want this sorting out. I understand people may have different experiences though. Any advice appreciated!

How did it go? Was the dr usefull?

@katepilar He wants me to have another ultrasound so I’m waiting for an appointment for that. He also wants me to have a colonoscopy so waiting for an appointment for that too. He mentioned about a laparoscopy, said I will likely have one of those too but they’re a last resort type of thing.

Its a long process. Mine tend to follow this routine, swabs, blood tests, chat. A scan follow up appointment and get a laporoscopy date. Tbh i find it harder getting the referral than the treatment. My gp surgery fobbed me off in november and took me phoning in tears after nearly passing out at work due to pain and being in tears the day before to get some pain relief as 1 gp decided OTC pain killers would work. The next week a knowledgeable gp gave me more meds and i had my referall paperwork the following day.
My consultant appointment isnt til March but ive had 3 laps so far most recent was summer 21.
I hope you get answers soon, the cyst may go by itself ive had them before that have done that
