Govt Review of Childcare!

I'm copying and pasting this from a LinkedIn post by the woman who runs 'Pregnant then Screwed'...

I don't even have DC but feel quite strongly from the experiences of friends and everything I read on here that childcare isn't working for women right now so here is a chance to contribute and have our voices heard.

Please contribute if you have any thoughts or feelings on this - you don't need to be an amazing writer or have the best ideas (or even any ideas!). Every opinion counts.

The LinkedIn post...

Earlier, you may have heard a distant shriek as I threw off my clothes and ran around my estate, legs akimbo, throwing my underwired bra into the bushes, shouting - WE BLOODY DID IT! You see, Parliament has finally committed to a review of our childcare and early years sector in England following our petition with @graziauk that over 100,000 of you signed and our protest marches across the UK. They listened (finally) and the consultation is now live. But there’s more… we need you to respond. This could not be more important. This is our moment to tell the Government what’s wrong with the current set up and what needs to change. Every response will be read and analysed by a team at Westminster. Not only that, these responses will be used by every political party to design their manifesto pledges when it comes to childcare and early years.

We’ve created a webpage with all the information, plus some points you might want to think about when crafting your response. Please lads and lasses! If you do one thing today, one thing this month, one thing this year, this is it! Respond to this consultation that we have all fought so hard for and tell the Government what you need (or needed) from childcare and early years (including breakfast and after school clubs). Drop an emoji below when you’ve done it so we can monitor what’s happening and feel free to send us any questions.

Together, we are a FORCE. Thank you so much for being part of this campaign ❤️

@mnhq Is there a way of making a pinned announcement about this or including it in an email to all members?

It feels like something that aligns with Mumsnet's purpose and it's a very important topic for all UK members

I'm not affiliated with either Pregnant then Screwed or Grazia by the way - I just follow Jodi Brierley (sp?) who runs PTS on LinkedIn due to similar interests
