While I love the idea of CBD, I don’t think there are any decent peer reviewed studies proving its ability to reduce anxiety. The oils are so expensive, and vary vastly in terms of quality. I would doubt the amount of active ingredient in them.

Anti depressants are very much proven to work.

I suppose it depends on the level of anxiety.

I would try cardio exercise first or TRE - trauma release exercise. There are videos online. Cardio really helped me with severe ptsd. I used propanol on Anna's hoc basis to stop panic attacks but I was really focussed on finding non pharmaceutical solutions.

Things that helped me:

Exercise
Time in nature, ideally more than 3 days (read or listen to the 3 day effect by Florence Williams)
Propranolol
CBT therapy
Breathing exercises
Deep tissue massage

I have friends who report positive outcomes with CBD. I use a balm for muscles and joint ache.

I vape CBD oil but it's not enough on its own. I now take Buspirone and an antidepressant too, and Diazepam when anxiety is extreme. The only thing that really, really takes that gnawing, aching feeling from my whole body is exercise. Good heart pumping exercise to loud music. Better than any drug.

CBD is snake oil and much of what is sold, at extortionate prices, may not contain what is advertised. Prescription stuff would be a different matter.
