It’s just started here at 15! Is that the norm?

We allowed our DC to stay up and turn everything off after when they were secondary school age. They were Uber sensible reasonable kids and they were fine.

My nearly 16 year old still has a bed time.

She's never gone to bed later than us (unless shes had a sleepover) because any parties she goes to I've collected her.

WhiteFire · 13/01/2023 22:15

The 16 year old goes before, the 14 year old after. However he is in his room and has always had sleep issues, at least now I am happy he is ok, wasn't so great when he was 11.

15 sounds about right on a non school night. Just needs reminding to turn the light off...

9yr old DD and I usually go to bed at the same time 🤣

I’m very much an early bird and she doesn’t need any more sleep than me.

DuchessOfDisco · 13/01/2023 22:18

My 13 yr old has all his electronics turned off at 9 on school nights. At the weekend though I say to turn off his tv at midnight, however as I’m fast asleep by then I’m not policing it and tbh, he’s probably still watching it at 3am

NothingButSpace · 13/01/2023 22:30

Yes dd is actually in bed on various devices and I’m in bed reading and neither of us will go downstairs again this evening.

Until recently I was strict about bed at 10pm and devices out of bedrooms at night but I’m too exhausted to enforce it any more. She does like her sleep so she won’t be awake too late but I won’t be checking any more.

My 13 yo goes to bed after me at the weekends.

TenoringBehind · 13/01/2023 22:51

14 and 16 yo both do in the holidays and at weekends. And I’m not an early to bed person.

My ds is 17 and goes whenever he wants the only rule is he had to be up happily for sixth form the next day!
He had a school night bedtime of 9.45pm until after his last GCSE exam and dd (14) has the same rule. Fridays, Saturdays and school holidays were 10.30pm
