Breakfast stops on M5

We have a long drive from the north west to the south west coming up. We are thinking of setting off very early, 5am ish and stopping for breakfast somewhere off the M5. I want to avoid service stations really, would prefer to come off the motorway and find somewhere nice for a decent stop as we have a young 4 YO.

Any recommendations from anyone would be appreciated! TIA

That's too vague. Whereabouts (which junctions) do you think you will be at breakfast-time-ish?

Joining the thread just to say Gloucester services. Not going would be very wrong. They have a good play area for kids.

I was gutted when dm moved from
Somerset to Yorkshire and we no longer got to go to Gloucester Services anymore. We go to Scotland a lot, Cairn Lodge is not a patch on Gloucester/Tebay.

We once stopped off at Gloucester services on the way to Center Parcs at Longleat. On the way home my DS asked if next time we could just have a weekend at the services! 😁
