Boring DIY painting question

I’m redecorating a room that has a pale blue wall, with an ivory cream. I’m using Dulux Heritage paint which I like and usually find to have v good coverage. However after doing a test area with 2 coats, I can still see the blue coming through 😭

Going to have to do an undercoat now aren’t are? I usually apply two to coats of paints. The thought of having to do the whole room in effect 3 times has made me sit down for a biscuit.

Don’t normally use undercoat, any chance I can get away with just 1 coat of colour paint do you reckon? Or do I need a whole packet of biscuits and crack on.

When I have done this I used an inexpensive pure brilliant white as the undercoat. I went from a deep red to a pale blue and that took 5 coats!

A coat of pale grey, before the ivory, should help.

I'd get a cream "just one coat" paint as an undercoat.
Two coats of that got rid of terracotta stripes! But, yes. I think you might need three (four) coats.

I'd knock the colour back with some cheaper paint first. Good luck!
