I’ve been in a relationship for 5 years with DF,We have just found out we are pregnant! He owns a property too small for our blended family where as my house is perfect housing association with right to buy!
His property is more expensive than my house! So the mortgage would be much lower! However he must reside in this property for at least 12 months before we can attempt to buy it!!!
My main concerns are We ideally need to sell his property in order to buy this one (no idea how long that will take.) My credit isn’t anywhere near his is it’s excellent! He isn’t rolling in it but has decent savings excellent at paying things right on time and no silly financial mistakes unlike well me in my early twenties ☹️🙃Do you think until we can sell his property he could rent his property and move in?
Im just concerned about what the council might think of someone who is a homeowner already moving in? Unless we can explain our plan of action? That it’s our intention to sell that to buy this property!
We want to get married this year before the baby we really do want it all but it feels like obstacles first!? Do we wait until the property is sold THEN he moves in? Then apply in twelve months? I don’t know where to begin!
We can’t go down the private buying route as we can’t afford it standard 3 bed nothing spectacular averages at 400k here! His property is in the 200k region and this is in the 190k region!
