Does anyone know if I can go for a colposcopy while on my period?

Have a colposcopy booked for today but my very heavy period has just arrived! Will it go ahead? I've tried calling but can't get through to the department.

No you can’t, when I had mine a few months ago they asked me when booking the appointment when my period was due to avoid those dates. They should find you a new date pretty quickly though

I have done in the past and they said it was ok. Might have changed since though.

If you've already done the prep work then I'd want to go ahead with the scope. What if your period had only started once you were sitting in the waiting room?
