GP for sons cough?

Posting as I’ve never dealt with this type of cough before so I want to know if it’s appropriate or if I’d be wasting the gp’s time. He will be 2 at the end of feb. For about a week now he has a cough that makes him sound like a seal (best way I can describe it) It also has him gasping for breath at times. The cough is that bad it makes him throw up. I’ve also noticed he is gagging randomly a few times a day (don’t know if that’s connected) He’s a bit off his food but apart from that he’s seems ok.

Absolutely get him seen by a gp, since he’s off his food he could have a chest infection.

Sounds like croup although I'm not sure what the treatment is.

Yes get him seen at that age. Could be croup- my son had it last winter at age 6 and was prescribed steroids for 3 days which helped.
