Beat the summer rush - check your passport

I've just renewed my Dd's passport online. It was back in only 5 days.

The fees are due to increase in February. Now is a good time to apply 🙂

We checked ours yesterday, Zingy, when we heard that the civil service will be taking strike action. Not sure if workers at passport office are civil servants but it put the wind up us!

Thanks for the reminder OP, DC2's needs renewing. We got caught up in it all last time with other DC's - it was so stressful and took all the fun out of looking forward to a holiday.

Sent my old passport off the day before yesterday (did the online application on Monday), and I've already had a text telling me my application has been processed 😊

I'm onto this first thing Monday morning. There's are some ridiculously cheap breaks to Spain in March, I need to escape the rain.

Good point OP.

I checked mine this time last year as I could not remember whether I had to renew it before visiting an EU country or could wait until afterwards. Turned out I had to renew it beforehand (another thing not written on the side of a certain bus).

New passport arrived in about a fortnight.

Agree- we got both kids done- sent off on 3rd jan, back by 10th. Now definitely the time to get them off!
