So this evening i had an evening alone, well kids in bed. As dh went out.

I just cannot sit and watch tv alone, even when we watch tv together i kinda just look at it rather than actually watching it.
Tonight i tried and i felt like i was wasting time of no one around.

So i sorted this years diary /calendar as hadn't had a chance. Worked out all school holidays, insets for pre school, primary, dsc school and college dates.
Wrote a list of jobs to be done in the garden when the weather perks up.
Wrote a to do indoors list of big jobs, ie re paint hall.
Sorted youngests pre school hours to be increased online.
Got paperwork together for accountant and some banking to take tomorrow for work

Now in bed and dh will be home any minute

Why can't i relax?

You’re used to being ‘on’ all the time. If you had 3-4 days to chill you’d get there towards the end. I had a few quiet days over Christmas and actually managed to relax- if felt very strange. I also struggle with focus.

Well done on productivity but could be anything really ...

Co dependent
Stressed
Bored and need a hobby
Habit so used to your partner being there you don't know how to be you
So used to not having time to yourself you've forgotten what to do with your free time
Unable to switch off due to general life
Need more exercise or not eating right
Overwhelmed
Can't switch off mum mode

Agree with Montague. One evening or one day off isn't enough time for me to properly relax. I only take holiday in minimum 2 day blocks (if I'm taking it without family) so I do gardening/DIY on the first day and read a book or go for a walk on the second.

I had this evening to myself. I got a kebab, and then ate a share bar of dairy milk whilst binge watching Motherland 🤷🏻‍♀️ must be a happy medium somewhere.

Thank you. Yes definitely 1 eve isnt much.
I obviously get times when i go out see friends etc. Normally a fri eve.
But home alone its just too odd for me.
Youngest is on waiting list for more hours so i can relax wfh and actually do a decent amount of hours
