Painful knee

Last week I crouched down and felt something rip or pop in the back of my and around the front. knee. Felt very sick/ faint. It improved quite quickly just a bit tender and stiff.
have done the RICE method.
On 5 occasions since, I had the most agonising pain having made small movement. It’s feels like something moves out of place in my knee or a spasm. This normally eases off after ten minutes r so but when it happens is agony.
Today it happened again but I couldn’t put any weight on it and it went on for over an hour. It was in pieces it hurt so much.
has anyone else experienced this. I am not asking for medical advice but any experiences?
I nearly went to A&E as it was so bad and I don’t do that lightly.
I have a physio app tomorrow but wondering if anyone has had anything like this. It’s so scary and painful to each time. Thank you for reading.

One knee gave me quite bad pain, as if the pain was in a piece of ribbon, i.e. the pain was ribbon-shaped. It also hurt around the back of the knee. A doc said osteoarthritis but I have always thought that it more fitted tendonitis. I have sometimes had a similar thing in a knuckle - quite strong pain coming on quickly and going away after just a few days. The knee took more like four weeks to get better and had a little reprise about a year later. I knew that it's bad to twist the knee and now I tend to push the car seat back to get in or out of the car so there's less chance of twisting and putting weight on at the same time.

Mine wasn't as bad as yours sounds, but it seems a bit the same.

Thank you. Yes ribbon shape makes sense to me.

It felt as if the ribbon-shaped pain was at the front of my knee, at the side of the kneecap, but for a while the whole knee, including the back of the knee, was painful.
