Intermittent fasting and workouts

Hi all,

I need some advice on when to fit in workouts around intermittent fasting. I used to go to the gym regularly - mostly for strength training. Recently life has been too busy and I haven't been going for a few months now. However, I did start 'time resteicted eating', which I guess is a form of intermittent fasting, where I make sure I take all my meals in a window of 9-10 hours. E.g. if I have my breakfast at 9:30 am (which is my first meal), I'll make sure my dinner is done by 7pm. I've found this really effective - have more energy, not feeling so bloated, friends have commented on how I've lost weight etc.

However, now I really want to go back to the gym and not sure where to fit it in. I've always read that if you're strength training, it's necessary to have a small post work out meal - which is usually a banana for me. I can only work out early in the day or late in the evening (post 8:30 pm). This would mean I'll end up eating something outside of the 10 hour window.

If you're someone who does intermittent fasting and also goes to the gym regularly, how do you manage it?

TIA!

Or late work-out after dinner and no post work out snack.

No food till lunchtime, eat after the gym in the evening (if home before 9), but eat a bigger lunch, smaller evening meal. Or eat a small meal eg omelette straight after work and go to the gym properly late.

Thanks all!
Will try out the early work out and see how that goes. I don't think I can deal with eating nothing till lunch time!
