Brighten house now Christmas lights have gone

Just got back from a holiday and without the Christmas lights the house looks dark and dreary. Any ideas how to brighten it up?
I had a glass bowl with baubles and lights in the hearth and one idea I am thinking is replace the baubles with something but what? anyone got any other ideas on how to brighten things up until Spring?
Its so depressing at this time of year!

We left our twinkly lights round our book cases up for this exact reason.

We also have a vase with just string lights in. Maybe you could replace the baubles with pine cones?

Logs with fairy lights can be pretty. We like lots of candles in the winter months.
