Here we are, a shiny new thread to help us stay dry.

Thread one has been great and supportive; and thread two will take us through further challenges and milestones. Hop aboard; you're all doing brilliantly!

Well everyone, I feel quite emotional.

For those taking the post-grad Dry or Damp February courses, this thread still has enough spaces to last another few days; or maybe someone could start a fresh one? It won't be me, though I'll chip in as a poster.

Again, well done everyone 😘

Jumped on it. Thanks @MeinKraft

Just came on to say thank you so much both to @HPLikecraft and everyone who has posted with their journey. My drinking was out of control at the start of this and I feel like a new woman now! That's no exaggeration. Being able to not have a drink and be ok with that is life changing for me.

Huge well done to everyone 🙂I'll be on the new thread as I think the support going forward will be helpful. I'll see some of you there!

Onehappymam · 01/02/2023 18:47

Well done everybody! Such a huge achievement.

I have two days still to go as I started on the 4th.

This time last year I remember seeing others attempt DJ and thinking no way could I manage! It was the equivalent of me signing up for a marathon. Unthinkable! It has been much easier than I thought it would be. Despite reaching for the biscuits far too often, I’ve lost 7lbs! Very much looking forward to the new thread in the hopes that I can drink in moderation.

Thank you for all your support, especially @HPLikecraft. Your positivity and understanding has made for a very welcoming thread. Flowers

Day 31 for us today and tomorrow we’re going out. I think we’ll have a drink, but tonight we were both saying we don’t really want to break our dry run! We’ve gone mad.

OneFrenchEgg · 04/02/2023 19:11

Still not had a drink. Contemplating just Fri/sat night for the way forward and setting the app im using up for that. Anyone else had a reluctance to open the alcohol?

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 04/02/2023 19:27

Hi @OneFrenchEgg

New thread for those wanting to continue with some form of abstinence in feb.

Why is it so much harder to not drink now Dry Jan is over? Straight back into old ways! 3 days AF out of 8 so far in February and finding it so hard.

HPLikecraft · 10/02/2023 08:23

Think you've posted on the wrong thread, @Hedjwitch 😉
Come over to the February thread.

I agree, it's harder. I caved last night, when I wasn't going to drink until tonight.
Didn't even particularly enjoy it.

A week on Saturday will be the end of DJ for me. Dh & I are having our annual catch-up with friends which always involves a few drinks & I want to join in. This is my 3rd year so I know I'll get to the end without caving in. I also do sober October. I'll sign off this thread now & wish all those who have remained strong all the best in sticking with it. It's really worth it.
💪👍
