Helping Hedgehogs

Can I just share this here, in case any of you see a hedgehog out and about this time of year?

mobile.twitter.com/HedgehogCabin/status/1612827901732261889

This time of year many of you who regularly feed will have sick hogs arriving. They may look small but they're not babies. They're adults who are so sick they've lost half their body weight.
Food won't mend them.
So if thin or appearing hunched, please get them to a rescue.

Thanks 🦔

Thought I'd share this from Twitter. Please don't mow your lawn just yet.

i haven’t been on here for a while but have been continuing to feed the hedgehogs throughout. I’m glad to see the hedgehog thread is being updated.

@RichardOsmansXraySpecs Thank you. I’ve screen shot your image warning not to cut the grass to share with my husband.

Bumping as hedgehogs are emerging from hibernation and in need of cat/dog food or Brambles hedgehog food.

Had them in our garden for a month and a half now. (2 of them.) Came out early, because of a mild-ish winter, and needed help, and care, especially during the arctic blast in early-mid March. They're adorable, and we love looking after them/helping them. 😍

Our hogs are definitely out every night now. God they make a racket!!

RichardOsmansXraySpecs · 11/04/2023 14:53

Saw a dead hedgehog on the road today, so sad they survived all winter and then got run over by a bloody car 😢
Anyway just leaving this here.

Thanks for the reminder, OP.

I haven’t seen any evidence of hedgehogs in our garden yet this year. I usually know they’re here when I see the poo

Well - we’ve had the hogs back for weeks but tonight - they are mating!!!

what a racket. It doesn’t sound at all romantic.

Good news they are mating even if they do make a racket 😆 We need all the baby hedgehogs we can get 🦔
