Scared to come off the pill- hormone help please!

I’m hoping someone might have advice.

I’d really like to try coming off the pill. I’ve been on it since my daughter was born 6 years ago, mainly to manage my mood- my PMT was horrendous after having her. I literally thought I had depression, until my lovely GP noticed that I was coming to see her at the same time every month.
She put me on a low dose combined pill, which worked wonders. I have felt very calm and stable throughout the month ever since.

Unfortunately though, I am now getting loads of breakthrough bleeding, and also chronic thrush, which another Dr has suggested might be linked to the pill. I’d like to give my body a chance to return to its natural cycle, but I’m so nervous of how I’ll feel off it- especially as I’m nearly 40 now, and possibly peri-menopausal!

If you’ve got this far- my questions are:

How long does it take your body to return to ‘normal’ after coming off the pill? And also, if any of you struggle with mood and hormones, do you take any natural supplements that genuinely help?

Thanks all

P.s…bloody hormones!!!

I really recommend a book called the period repair manual.

Loads of great advice for dealing with period issues without the synthetic hormones.
