Desperate, any idea what’s wrong with me?

I’m desperate, has anyone had these symptoms or has any idea what’s causing it? For a month I’ve had swollen breasts discharging milky pus, both very painful but the left is worse, aches spreading into my shoulders ribs and back. Came on very suddenly over the course of 3-4 days. The GP said infection but two weeks of antibiotics (flucloxacillin) have not fixed it.

You need a referral to the breast clinic. I assume you’re not pregnant ?

No not pregnant. They said they will refer me to the breast clinic but referrals are taking a long time at present.

At a guess, I’d say they’re not referring under the two week pathway because both breast are discharging pus but I’d definitely go back and ask if that’s the case, if that’s at all feasible. In saying that, I’m aware that getting another GP appointment might not be that easy.

Could you ask for another antibiotic in the interim? How long are they expecting the referral to take? I wouldn't be happy with waiting without any treatment tbh, it sounds like a horrible infection.

Have they swabbed the discharge to get the right antibiotics ?
