Mock GCSE exams

If your child sat mocks in November time are they doing more in the spring term? I only remember one set of mocks in my very distant past and I don't recall school saying there'd be two sets. It's a state school if that makes any difference.

Yes, there are still concerns abut teacher assessed grades being required, so 2 sets of mocks for this year's Y11s - and all papers to be kept in school afterwards at the place I'm support staff for.

As a former state school teacher, at my school they had mocks before Christmas and then one more set of mocks after Christmas before the real thing.

No - my DS sat mocks (in exam conditions in the hall, with a proper results day!) in November and they're not doing it again before the real thing.

They are however doing lots of past papers and questions as part of their revision- both at home and at school.

We did mocks in November and will be doing them again Feb/March to 'check progress'. Because there are two sets, we have to cram them into as short a time frame as possible so they end up with three exams per day which is shit.

DD had mocks in June/July, again in November and will have some more in a couple of subjects between now and the actual exams but in the classroom instead of the full exam hall shebang.

Yes. Full set in January
