Varifocal contact lenses

Could anyone comment on them please?

I wear varifocal glasses but they really don't suit my lifestyle (spend a lot of time outdoors getting wet).

They would need to correct an astigmatism too. Is this even possible ?

I can't see my phone without the reading bit so normal lenses probably wouldn't do

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I wear normal contacts and have reading glasses which correct my astigmatism. I don't need to read my phone when I'm outside in the rain though!

I know you can get contacts for astigmatism as my optician bangs on about them but I tried them and neatly fell over they made me so dizzy.

Not sure you can get varifocals mixed in. Have you looked on the contact lenses websites?

This is probably not recommended but I have done it for years and know friends who also do it. I have the same prescription in both eyes -2 so I wear a co ntact lens in one eye. For distance, Means I can read and see distance no problems . I tried the alternative 🤢 made me feel sick

I do similar to Cassandra: I have a contact lens for reading in my left eye and my right eye for distance. This was recommended by my optician, as I hated the varifocal lenses.

l used to wear 2 different lenses, a ‘distance’ and a ‘reading’ lens, but when the difference in the prescription became too great, I switched to varifocal lenses. I love them and use them daily. No idea how they work, but they definitely do. I use Specsavers own brand
