Can I take Imodium and citalopram??!

Been up all night, puking and diarrhoea. I know you're not meant to take immodium if stomach bug but I am exhausted and need to sleep before my youngest is up shortly!!

I don't see why you shouldn't take them together. I've never heard of SSRIs being contraindicated with loperamide.

I did google @dicker only I was in between vomiting and shitting myself at the same time! So my message was brief.

It said online there can be heart effects so I guess what I meant to say has anyone personally taken the two drugs together and been ok? Sorry I didn't give you the whole background to my thought process at 3am with d&v!

I'm on citralopram and have IBS and my doctor knows I take immodium they have never said anything about it being an issue.

Thanks all! I didn't end up taking it but managed an hour of sleep after chucking up again! Feel awful today and such a bad headache!

Thought it May be food poisoning but now my youngest has had a loose nappy 😫
