Isle of Lewis - will there be dogs everywhere?

Posting here for traffic, hoping mn will be able to help us!

We’ve always wanted to go to the Western Isles and are looking at going this summer, probably staying on Lewis. Our DC have ASD and don’t especially like crowded places or the usual kiddy attractions - they are most happy on beaches (even drizzly ones 😉) and roaming around outdoor attractions, nice NT ruins etc.

The problem is my DS is absolutely terrified of dogs. Seriously phobic - if we see a dog on a beach he will want to go home, game over. So when we holiday in the UK we always go to dog-free beaches, even if it’s more of a trek. From what I can tell, all of the beaches in the western isles are dog-friendly, though it’s surprisingly hard to find out definitively!

For those who know the area, are there any beaches with any dog restrictions in the summer? Or any small coves that dog walkers probably wouldn’t bother with?

All beaches on the western isles are dog friendly. But there are so many beaches that it won’t be hard to find one that offers some peace and quite away from others

we went in the summer a couple of years ago. on the west side of the islands away from stornaway, most of the beaches had ZERO other people on them (so no dogs either). especially if you pick one that is a bit of a walk from the car.
