When you are just so proud of your kids ☺️

My 6 year old son fell over today and banged his head. He cried straight away and when I hugged him my hand felt wet and I discovered he was bleeding. On closer inspection he had a cut to the back of his head and it was bleeding quite a lot.
i took him in to the kitchen and held a towel against it as a compress but it was obvious we needed to get to A+ E.

I had to get dressed, put the dog out for a wee, find my keys and handbag and get our coats ready.

My son stood and held the towel against his head himself and then sat with it there in the car on the way to the hospital. No crying, just calmly doing what he was told so we could get there without any fuss.

what a superstar. I tucked him into bed tonight and just couldn’t believe how lucky I am to have such a wonderful child!!

just wanted to share 😊

You being so calm would of 100% been the reason he was so calm.

Well done to you and hope he was seen quickly in A&E

That's brilliant. Oddly I sometimes find kids are more level headed in the actual serious accidents. My eldest slipped in the bath and put her tooth through her lip at a similar age. She's usually one for drama but was surprisingly sensible.

Awww he sounds like a lovely little man, be proud! Hope he is OK now!

Ever heard of dissociation?

Spaghetti201 · 08/01/2023 01:59

Or concussion?

Spaghetti201 · 08/01/2023 02:00

Just because a child is quiet doesn’t mean they aren’t upset. I’m not sure I would be “proud” of my kid for not being visibly upset. Bit of an odd thing to say.

RambamThankyouMam · 08/01/2023 02:07

Sounds like concussion!

Swimawayyy · 08/01/2023 08:03

It wasn’t concussion, and I didn’t say he was quiet. I said he calmly did what he was told allowing to get to A + E without any fuss.

I AM proud, I wanted to share this nice feeling. If you’ve got nothing supportive to say say then please don’t post. I could do without your ill - educated medical diagnoses
