Just ate a whole Camembert for lunch

It was leftover from the Christmas cheese. Sitting forlornly waiting, BBE date tomorrow.

Had to eat it. Feel sick now.

You could have frozen it.

Eating random selection of cheeses today.

Ate full Brie last week. And I was indeed sick...

I see no problem here.

I would have paired it with some nice red. 😃

I'm so jealous of you all ☹️ Gallbladder nearly exploded in November (clearly this was not the actual diagnosis) , so I'm on a very low fat diet until I can have surgery, because apparently the next one could be fatal. My surgical consult was meant to be this week and has been cancelled until June!! Eat the cheese ladies, do it for me ....

I actually used to do this often when I was early 20s, just as it is.
Now I love it baked or breaded and fried, and I have to share it with my dh.

A while ago a friend I was visiting told me she had some 'weird French cheese', a gift from someone, in her fridge that had 'gone off'. I asked to see it. A perfectly ripe Camembert. Nabbed it and baked it still in its wooden casing and DP and I had it with new potatoes and peas. Lovely.

Best before dates are always wrong on cheese - camembert is at its best several weeks after that

We've a whole shelf of cheeses left. We were scrupulously careful in not buying Christmas food to excess then we looked at the cheese counter. 😋
Think we've a cheese "best before" date every day this week. Not that I pay too much heed to best before dates unless it's a soft cheese or seafood but we're taking it as a valid reason to get the crackers out of an evening! 😋
