Cervical ectropion or something more sinister? Freaking out a bit.

Last year I started getting random bleeding and was referred for an internal exam/colposcopy where I was told I had a cervical ectropion due to my hormonal implant. I had a (pretty traumatic) cauterisation and biopsy done (which was clear) and everything has been fine since then. However earlier this week I started to get some light spotting and I thought perhaps it was my period coming, despite almost never getting them anymore due to said bloody implant. Cut to today and DH and I were intimate for the first time in a while and I have started bleeding, not heavily but definitely bright red blood whereas it was more brown before Sad. Definitely doesn't seem like period blood.

Slightly freaking out now as I have terrible health anxiety and have convinced myself it is ovarian cancer or maybe they missed something last time. Or is it more likely that the ectropion is just causing problems again?

So worried, any advice or reassurance would be gratefully received as I won't be able to see the Dr until Monday.

Also meant to say I have been having some pain on my left side too, albeit just twinges now and again, but I had been putting it down to my torture device of a desk chair I've been glued to and hadn't really thought anything of it until now.

Implant causes all kinds of erratic bleeding so it could be that! Also could be your ectropion, which isn’t harmful but can be annoying as it causes bleeding.

Are you up to date with smears?

Almost 100% likely to be the ectroption. About a decade ago I ended up with almost continual bleeding. A scan found uterine polyps so I had them taken away but the consultant said that he'd also cauterised the ectroption and said that was probably the main cause of the bleeding. He also said it could come back. It hasn't but maybe yours has?

The pain down your left side could be ovulation. I get random pains at times but it goes away and it's always about that time of the month.

I know you said you have an implant but your body might still be trying to ovulate.

Yes had two last year due to the bleeding and nothing found, also a biopsy. I'm quite limited to what birth control I can use as I have a disability that makes me prone to blood clots, but not sure what to do as this will be the third time I have had to go in for a colposcopy in three years due to this bloody implant!

Think the difference this time is the twinge in my side, didn't have pain before.

does ovarian cancer cause bleeding after sex? I read some conflicting things the last time this happened and I'm not sure. I have terribly weak muscles in that whole area too, just don't need this worry right now.
