Anyone rented a motor home in the UK?

Could you advise how much it was please?

I have a quote for March for over £200pn. It’s 4 berth, just for 2 people though, a nice, newish, smart van. I was just quite surprised at the cost & wanted to find out if that is normal or if I need to shop around!

(The ones I have looked at don’t seem to show prices on their websites, you have to enquire…)

Sound expensive to me. About 4 years ago I rented a van for a long weekend at the end of Feb for £150-200

We own a 'van so don't have personal experience of renting one but reading the specialist magazines I think a figure of £1-1.5K per week is about normal for a decent sized vehicle.
Is insurance extra and do you have to provide bedding, crockery & cutlery etc?

I’ve never hired one because last time i priced it up it was a similar price to use the car and stay in quite nice hotels! I see this company around a lot if you want to do a price comparison for something similar. Don’t forget site fees and fuel too, neither of which will be cheap.

Thanks all.

The fee includes insurance and crockery but not bedding.

The link was useful because you can get an actual quote which for a similar van on same dates was £125pn, though not including insurance. Much less convenient though, the place I initially got a quote from is close to home so I hoped to pick up the van, drive home and load on the drive, and do the reverse at the end. With a London pick up, I guess we would need to pack suitcases etc. which I can’t quite get my head around!

Definitely agree we could do better in hotels. We are toying with buying a motor home so this trip is a test of how we get on and if this layout is right for us.

Apparently ikea blue bags are the way to go for packing in a Moho because you’ll struggle to store your suitcase!
