I am out of ideas on where to go this year. Its me dh and dd 14. Previously we have been to Broadstairs, st ives, woollacombe, whitby, Southwold, Cromer, North wales and Isle of Wight. We liked them all but especially st ives...the beaches, shops and eateries, the views! We like body boarding a lot, and we live very inland so want some sea!

(Flying not an option)

Love some new ideas.

Northumberland? Weather may not be as predictable but views forever, lots of places to visit, history, great food. Car or train.

Maybe start around Tynemouth/Whitley Bay. Nice place to stay. Move north to Alnwick, Seahouses, Bamburgh.

Not quite UK, but the Isle of Man?
Or Isles of Scilly (if you can find anywhere and budget allows).

I was going to suggest Alderney till you said no flying. The beaches are fabulous!

The Channel Islands are lovely generally. You can get to some of the others by ferry I believe.

If budget allows how about Normandy? Take the ferry across, lots of interesting towns, history, lovely beaches. Same goes for Belgium, train is an option to there too

If you like St Ives go somewhere else in Cornwall. Padstow in the north part or near St st michaels mount? Some lovely places across Cornwall and st ives is only one!

I think you'd enjoy Pembrokeshire.

Tenby is a lovely resort with two large beaches, although there are many smaller resorts along that coastline.

Far cheaper and less crowded than Cornwall, but just as nice.

Sprig1 · 06/01/2023 12:19

Exmoor. You have lovely coastline but interesting things to in land as well.

Rotherweird · 06/01/2023 12:44

Pembrokeshire is a good shout. I'd also suggest Penzance - there is loads to do in West Cornwall, gorgeous beaches like Sennen Cove, the coastal path is stunning.
