A child free day and £100 WWYD

Tomorrow for what feels like the first time in years I have a child free day, no plans, and £100 to spend (my DF won the bonus ball at the pub and has insisted I treat myself, currently at risk of redundancy... bless him!) but I have NO idea what to do! I don't want to buy clothes as I hate that experience. So Mumsnetters...what would you do?

I'd book myself a last minute spa day with a lovely lunch and chill out

Treeeeeeee · 05/01/2023 20:58

Spa day!

I would go to a great gallery/exhibition but if my DH was at risk of redundancy I really wouldn't spend the full £100.

Cinema and lunch. I'd happily do both by myself and enjoy the peace and quiet

Go for a run in the morning. Back home for a shower then out to have my nails done and a nice lunch out.

Im so jealous.

@watchfulwishes to clarify it's me at risk of redundancy and my DFather giving me the money! I have been tempted to put it aside but also having a moment of wanting to be kind to myself, we have saving so it won't be the difference between clothes or heating if I spend it, DFather just knows if he doesn't say it's for me I will likely spend on the kids!

Book yourself a spa day and lunch 100%- take some me time to yourself. Enjoy

Banjaxx · 05/01/2023 21:18

Bus into town straight to Waterstones, browse around and buy a really fucking good book, then round to the cosiest comfiest place I can think of to drink coffee and read for a couple of hours with my feet up people watching.

Dimpous · 05/01/2023 21:26

Spa was my first thought but I can't find any online with last minute availability.

Cinema is a good idea, but nothing on I really want to see.

A good book and coffee is definitely on the list, I have a pile to be read at some point, so at least one will be coming with me for sure.

I'd book a massage or facial treat myself (and a friend if poss) to a lovely brunch somewhere

FlickFlackTrap · 05/01/2023 21:38

Massage and coffee shop date all by myself to enjoy the peace.
Really jealous OP!

Nice little town, charity shop blitz, cinema, lunch.

JingsMahBucket · 05/01/2023 23:06

@Dimpous I wouldn’t bother with an actual full spa day but just get a singular treatment like others suggested. You’d likely be able to find a 30 min massage or facial just by itself. Look on Treatwell for slots. Enjoy! :)

belowfrozen · 05/01/2023 23:17

I'd book a long massage

mycatsanutter · 05/01/2023 23:20

Massage & lunch out
