Husband tells me he has been having chest pain the last couple of weeks that's been getting worse. Getting pain on the left side sometimes in his back and shoulders. Not huge pain but discomfort. Rang urgent care and told to go to a&e. Have 2 kids here so can't go with him just really scared for him and us. His dad had a heart attack at a similar age

Handhold here. Glad he's getting medical help and hope it's nothing serious. Take care of yourself this evening.

My DH was admitted into hospital 2 days ago with chest pain. They can tell very quickly if it’s heart-related. For my DH they think it was a pulled muscle.

Is your DH in any high risk categories? Overweight, smoker, meat & dairy-heavy diet?

Redebs · 05/01/2023 20:33

Aww, poor you. What a horrible situation.
There are lots of possible causes for those symptoms and fortunately he is in the best place at the moment.
Try to focus on being you and in the moment. Try not go run through all the possible 'what ifs'
Get some rest when you can, and take comfort it knowing that you are being incredibly brave at the moment. You are not alone.

Asking questions like that is not helpful

I wouldn't have though he was high risk. Not overweight. Active enough. Non smoker. So hard to not have all the thoughts run through my head especially with the family history

Newyear2023 · 05/01/2023 22:41

How are you doing OP x

determinedtomakethiswork · 05/01/2023 22:54

How is he getting to hospital? It must be very upsetting not being able to go with him. I hope it's just a pulled muscle.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 05/01/2023 23:03

He's in the best place and I hope he will update you as soon as he can
It's harder for you waiting for news

Strawblue · 05/01/2023 23:13

It could be Costochrondritis which can mimic a heart attack symptoms.

Obviously he must get checked out but for those who present at A&E with chest pain and are found not to have heart issues many actually have costocondritis (I read this somewhere). I have this condition and I thought I was having a heart attack.

Hopefully they don’t find anything seriously wrong x

belowfrozen · 05/01/2023 23:37

Be positive. He's getting checked out. They'll tell you if there is an issue and what to do

Gilead · 05/01/2023 23:41

He’s in the best place for the moment, keep calm and try to distract yourself a wee bit.💐
