I recently turned 50 and have never had any bladder issues, both my children were cesarean deliveries. I am healthy and active, I am pretty sure I'm almost through the menopause (which hasn't been great). I have a busy lifestyle and often feel tired. I am a vegetarian and I have a great diet.
I have taken supplements for about a year, to give myself a boost. I was taking, magnesium citrate, cod liver oil, lions mane and a seven seas multi vitamin for women 50 plus. All good, felt pretty great.
Around a month ago I suddenly started having bladder issues, leaking etc. It came on very suddenly - literally one morning whilst I was reading in bed! I was shocked as it was quite bad and just spurted out (sorry!).It went on for a few days, I spoke to my doctor who thought it was a urine infection so I had antibiotics. The leaking continued. Returned to the doctor who tested my urine, no infection present. She told me to stop taking all my supplements and see if it improved. Which I did. Over the course of 4 weeks the problem went away. I was delighted!
Over Christmas my whole family have had the flu bug and I have felt very tired and not quite myself. I bought some Berroca yesterday, I had one at lunchtime and then another one at lunchtime today. Earlier on this evening my bladder weakness occurred again and I am back to wearing pads.
Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone have any knowledge regarding this? My body obviously has suddenly decided to reject the supplements etc. I am so confused by it. I am not going to take any more and I feel confident the bladder weakness will once again resolve itself.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for reading.
