Who to fly to Dubai with?

helpyhelperton · 05/01/2023 17:51

Want to take my DH on a special trip to Dubai and can't afford business class but would like to go on a more luxurious airline.

For those who have flown there recently, who offers the best flight service and experience?

Thanks!

Emirates, go on the airbus A380.

Ilikewinter · 05/01/2023 18:06

Emirates...book the seats of 2 together!

Oher · 05/01/2023 18:38

Emirates.

(Don’t touch British Airways it is not what it was.)

Emirates is brilliant.

Emirates. Even the terminal you land in/leave from is miles better than other airlines

Emirates. We've also flown with Qatar and they've always been generous with their upgrades! Never flown to Dubai with Qatar though.

HariKris · 05/01/2023 21:14

I have never been. Nor have I flown Emirates.

However, I am just picking up some vibes that Emirates might be the best way to go. Not sure why. Just sense it from this thread perhaps.

Defo emirates - if you can’t afford business class, I would still recommend paying extra and getting the lounge access. Much nicer way to start the holls!

Emirates

If you go emirates, try to book on an A380. They have a new premium economy section. Alternatively when choosing your seats, you sometimes are able to select upstairs in economy. There are a handful of rows where it's 2-4-2 rather than 3-4-3. Sitting in the two section feels a bit more fancy.
And also with emirates you land in a separate terminal dedicated to that airline so the queues move a lot quicker.
I think there's also an option to pay £100 to go in the Emirates airline lounge pre flight. The food and drink is very nice so would recommend if you can.

Have a great trip!

😂

Emirates rejected me for a job in 1996 because I had a spot. I will never fly with them. They are dead to me.

We went in August. Go on the Emirates A380. Best flight experience of my life.

Overthebow · 05/01/2023 22:22

If you can afford premium economy it's a good compromise.

Pashazade · 05/01/2023 22:41

Another vote for Emirates, even the basic seats on the Airbus are brilliant, sadly the flight back was a more average plane!

This thread would be much livened up if it was transferred to AIBU.

Shopaholic100 · 05/01/2023 22:46

Emirates A380 upstairs was very luxurious and spacious.

lucya66 · 05/01/2023 22:49

I also vote emirates a380. In economy, get the row 50 seats as it’s so spacious and there’s nobody behind you, so you can recline your seat freely.

We had this row, well not row 50, I think it was actually row 10? It was the last row of the first 'block' at the front of the plane. Nobody behind us and so could recline without feeling guilty. Sooo comfy.

MrsPatrickDempsey · 05/01/2023 22:56

I have heard Emirates are good 😂

Seriously - been with them twice; once on the a380 and the other on the 777 in economy. Both excellent.

MrsSkylerWhite · 05/01/2023 22:57

Yes, Emirates, no question.

Yes, that’s right. It’s technically the 10th row, just before the wings. It’s amazing and you forget there are dozens of rows behind you, the wall / curtain behind you.

I think they number it as row 50 as rows 1 onwards is in the upper first class deck and the lower deck starts at row 40?

I will always pay extra for this row.

Esmereldaaa · 05/01/2023 23:17

@lucya66 omg you're right I just checked, we were row 50! 😀

helpyhelperton · 07/01/2023 11:54

Wow! Thanks so much - emirates it is....

Emirates once gave me a free upgrade to business class. Bastards, it's made all subsequent flights really disappointing 🤣
